Is Novvel free?
The preview is. Upload your story and we'll create your cover art, your characters illustrated, three opening pages and three visual directions for $0 — no credit card needed. You only pay if you want to finish the book.
How much does a full graphic novel cost?
Starter is a flat price set by your manuscript's length: $99 for stories up to 2,000 words and $199 for 2,001 to 5,000 words (Founder's pricing, normally $199 and $299). That covers a complete graphic novel of roughly 40 pages. Studio, where Novvel's team produces the book for you with no length limit, is quoted per project — you'll know the full cost before we begin.
What is Founder's pricing?
A launch discount on Starter for the first 500 books: $99 instead of $199 for stories up to 2,000 words, and $199 instead of $299 for 2,001 to 5,000 words.
Can I give the finished book as a gift?
Yes. Starter is made for exactly that — short stories, children's stories, memoirs and family stories. You get a complete PDF you can print, share or submit, for personal use.
Can I sell my graphic novel?
On Studio, yes — it comes with full commercial rights. Starter books are for personal use only: read them, print them, share them with family and friends, but not sell or commercially distribute them.
Will my book appear in Novvel Reader?

Do I need a finished manuscript to start?
No. A rough idea is enough for your free preview. Starter covers up to 5,000 words of original story; Studio has no length limit.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are generally non-refundable once we've started — the work begins immediately. If your graphic novel doesn't meet the agreed spec after you've used your redraws, write to support@novvel.co and we'll review.
